JB R.I.P » «

There are not really words to describe what James Brown meant to me and how his music educated me. Perhaps Oliver Wangs image says it best

Its probably no understatement to say that wtihout his influence there would be no Funk as we know it. Without Funk there would surely be no Hip Hop and D&B and a whole host of other sub genres. The first half of this mix from Stones Throw, is made up almost entirely of tunes sampled from JB breaks and is something of a dynamic discography. At least one small testament to the importance of JB’s contribution to music.

He was a genius!
