This summer I made a dedicated and conscientious effort to learn to play the piano . Since then I’ve made a connection with centuries of history and knowledge. As I play and learn I’m taking the first steps along an centuries old musical path created by the likes of Pythagoras , Medici , Bach et al
As I embark on what feels like my own maiden voyage each “new” discovery is a revelation and with each one comes a new realisation. After years of being in the dark with only my “feeling” I’m enlightened and all at once music (and so much more) makes sense. Mixolydian mysteries revealed on an unimaginable scale. As the keys reveal the truth and logic of mathematical , physical and mystical laws, suddenly I am confronted and connected with the enormity and mystery of the whole universe. Its a kind of [Black and white] magic – and it’s beautiful!
So as I play and I feel the big bang in every tune it’s no wonder that my head feels like its going to explode! Bonkers!
