Here are some of the more interesting reasons I’ve heard for and against old Blighty – which all go to show what a funny old bunch of sorts everyone is!
My all time favourite ever has got to be basins with two taps. A Russian once told me they just couldnt believe that there are so many basins with two taps in England. They saw this as a serious problem which could not possibly be tolerated be any reasonable person. They told me this was charactersistic of a society in decline which just puts up with anything and everything. They cited this as a valid reason he could not live in the UK. A reasonable person if ever I met one! Certainly two taps short of mixer!
