The UN report was issued as the Swiss magazine Bilan released a list of the richest Swiss residents. Ingvar Kamprad, the founder of Ikea, topped the list with an estimated fortune of $21bn.

So while I sit here at my Ikea desk, slim healthy and content, playing at being an IT consultant, it seems I got myself a big 1% fat Western ass cos I et too much rich food and consumed too much semi disposable furniture while the rest of the world was starving. I feel a bit sick…
I might consider myself to be “hard up” compared to most of the “normal” people racing around in their beemers n benzes but everything is relative. Choosing what to eat and drink for dinner is my great priveledge while for some regular access to food and water means life or death.
The buck stops with me. I know that the way I live my life and the choices I make do effect other people everywhere. A small part of [our] wealth [really can] transform the lives of millions.
